Course-specific competence: - can with equilibrium equations calculate the support reactions for statically determinate structures (1)
- can take out bending moment and shear force for a statically determinate beam (1)
- can read and draw moment- and shear diagrams (3) and from given diagrams find the critical spots and calculate the corresponding load (5)
- understands the function of lattice girders (trusses) and can determine the bar forces with one of two alternative methods (1). Can solve the statically determined truss with junction and cutting methods (3). Masters (5) both methods and can use these in an optimal manner
- can calculate center of mass and the moment of inertia for a cross section with rectangular parts (1)
- can add and subtract parts of the cross section for calculate the center of mass and the moment of inertia (3)
- can calculate deflection of beams with tables and formulas (1). Can calculate deflections with Mohrs analogy in simple load cases (3). Masters in combining formulas and load cases (5)
