GRAPHIC DESIGN

Second year

Communication Sociology - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT:
- Fundamentals of communica1on sociology.
- The impact of culture on communication.
- Analysis of social norms and stereotypes.
- Representation and diversity in visual communication.
- Applications in design and media.
COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- Understands how social factors influence communication.
- Masters the analysis of communication patterns in different social groups.
- Has the practical skills to identify cultural influences on visual communication.
- Can interpret social norms and representation in media.

Experimental Visual Communication - 6 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT:
- Experimental techniques and tools.
- Exploration of new media and materials.
- Analysis of innovative design examples.
- Practical exercises in experimental design.
- Discussions on innovation in design.
COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- Understands innovative methods in visual communication.
- Masters the use of experimental techniques to create unique expressions.

Illustration and symbolism 2 - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT:
- Basic techniques in illustration.
- Color, form, and symbolism.
- Analysis of the significance of symbols.
- Exercises in crea1ng symbolic illustrations.
- The role of symbolism in visual communication.
COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- Understands the cultural and historical significance of symbols.
- Masters the use of color, form, and composition to convey symbolism.
- Has the practical skills to create illustrations that communicate symbolic messages.
- Can interpret and analyze symbolism and metaphors in visual work.

Web design - 6 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT:
- Basics of HTML and CSS.
- UX/UI design for the web.
- Responsive design and mobile adaptation.
- Aesthetic and functional aspects of web design.
- Practical exercises in web design.
COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- Understands the basic principles of web design and UX/UI design.
- Masters the use of HTML and CSS to create responsive web pages.
- Has the practical skills to design user-friendly and aesthetically appealing websites.
- Can interpret and apply UX/UI principles in web contexts.

Visual Journalism and Book Design - 6 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT:
- Principles of visual journalism.
- Layout and typography for book design.
- Storytelling through image and text.
- Ethical considerations in visual journalism.
- Prac1cal exercises in book and magazine layout.
COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- Understands principles of layout and typography in book design.
- Masters the crea1on of visual material for journalis1c purposes.
- Has the practical skills to create layouts that support journalistic storytelling.
- Can interpret and analyze visual storytelling in journalism.

Third year

Illustration - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Working with different techniques for illustration. From text to
illustration.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student knows the key techniques in illustration, can realize illustrations for various media, can analyze a textual material for illustration work.

Graphic Production 2 - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Working with project, from planning to execution.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student has developed professional skills in one, supposed or real, customer-oriented working relationship, is able to create a timetable for the work and take the project forward, is able to justify his/her solutions and decisions, is able to
present his/her work professionally, is able to produce material alone or in group for a project,
has the ability to critically evaluate their own work and its impact on the environment, climate
and society, has the ability to reflect on their own work in terms of accessibility, strives towards
a sustainable design industry through critically evaluating their own work, is able to ensure
sustainable patterns of consumption and production in their own work.

Visual Identity - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Project-based work to achieve set goals.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student knows the basic principles of a visual
identity and understand their importance in the construction of a visual identity, can manage a
project for the development of a visual identity.

The Book - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Lectures and assignments within the field of book design and book production.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student is able to work with multipage documents,understands the basic concepts of the book's anatomy, is able to independently plan  and make a book under a given theme or a theme of her/his own choice, has the ability to critically evaluate their own work and its impact on the environment, climate and society, has the ability to reflect on their own work in terms of accessibility, strives towards a sustainable design industry through critically evaluating their own work, is able to ensure sustainable patterns of consumption and production in their own work.

Typography 2 - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Lectures and assignments within the field of graphic design and typography.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student understands the difference between commercial typography and creative typography and master these, understands the conventions in the field and is able to break them, works with text in a visually engaging way.

Graphic Production 3 - 3 ECTS

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

Second year

Portfolio - 6 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: From camera to visual material.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- knows the basic functions of the camera
- masters the basics of photography
- understands and can apply the basics of layout
- masters the basics of layout composition, typography, hierarchy, rhythm, and other
fundamentals of visual design
- can create a functional visual product

Interior Textiles 1, private - 6 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: The basics of interior textiles

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- is familiar with various textile materials, their applications and understands the working
procedure in planning a room
- understands the working procedure in planning a room with textiles
- is able to apply planning methods and tools in this branch
- has deepened their knowledge about the environmental impact of textiles
- understands the responsibility of the designer when it comes to choice of material
- has an awareness

Project 1 - 6 ECTS

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- is familiar with project management
- knows how to use various tools that help students in structuring the work
- is be able to plan and carry out a project as part of a group
- knows how to set measurable goals for her/his work
- shows a basic understanding of project management
- has the ability to organise and plan his/her work
- shows the ability to develop a project according to the customer’s expectations
- has a basic awareness of the different mode of expression, tools and possibilities available
within the field

Third year

3 D 2 - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Specialization in SketchUp Pro software and presentation techniques.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- masters, and effectively apply, this data program to achieve a specific objective
- is able able to make independent use of this tool
- is able to visualize own ideas and products for the producer

AutoCAD 2 . 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: In-depth knowledge of Auto CAD and application of the knowledge and presentation methods within their own planning work.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- is able to immerse himself/herself in this data program
- is able to adapt skills in own planning operations
- masters visual presentation methods as a component in the planning process

Product design - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: The course consists of the processes and methods that helps the
student to plan user-oriented products, as well as present the work.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- has gained an understanding and mastery of creatitive processes, planning methods and
visual presentation methods within the context of design
- understands user-orientated planning and the importance of ergonomics
- see the relationship between the ethical, qualitative, functional and aesthetic values in
product design and has the ability to apply them

Product Manufacturing 1 - 3 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Product manufacture according to own design.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: The student:
- is able to produce own creations by using previously acquired knowledge of techniques
and materials within product design framework
- promotes the use of sustainable and locally produced

FINE ARTS

Second year

Contemporary Art 2 - 9 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Immersion into individual artistic creation. Questions of
contemporary art and its role, meaning and function in today’s society. Lectures, group
assignments, artistic assignments connected to the topic, as well as independent work.
Exhibition planning.


COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: After completing this course, the student is expected to:
- be able to create a visual body of work and write a text about their own artistic practice
and how it relates to the theories of contemporary art, complete with references to the
sources
- be able to present a comprehensive view of the field of contemporary art

Sculpture - 12 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Lectures, group assignments, artistic assignments connected to the topic, as well as independent work. Spatial awareness in an exhibition context.


COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: After completing this course, the student is expected to:

- recognize the fields of knowledge that surround sculpture, such as composition, shape and
space
- be able to make use of figurative, abstract and conceptual starting points for sculpture
- be part of the discourse on sculpture in different situations in their own field
- be able to work both individually and as part of a group
- choose an approach to sculpture that takes responsibility and sustainable development
into account
- recognize the different purposes, materials, techniques and tools of sculpture, as well as
occupational safety in theory and practice.

Third year

Community Art - 9 ECTS

CONTENT OF THE STUDY UNIT: Lectures, group assignments, artistic assignments connected to the topic, as well as independent work.


COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: After completing this course, the student is expected to:

- demonstrate an awareness of art that focuses on social relations
- understand the difference between art for the sake of art and art that is made for
instrumental purposes
- demonstrate an awareness of art and health
- work in groups to create community art projects in the local community
- be able to work from a critical and theoretical perspective that decodes and understands
the types of relationships that are made between the work of art and the participants. Find
references in art history and in current theories of art
- understand the relationships that are created between art, institutions, and the
- be aware of the need for a language that expresses these relationships in an adequate way
- be able to find artistic materials that work in the context of community art
