Novia University of Applied Sciences has appointed Hanna Guseff as the new Dean for the Faculty of Business for the next five years. The Dean is responsible for leading the department’s operations, staff, finances, and pedagogical development, and ensures that goals are achieved. The Dean is part of Novia’s management team, where she contributes to the university’s strategic work.

“We were pleased to have many strong candidates to choose from. Over the past few years, Hanna has achieved impressive results in the university’s research, development, and innovation activities. She has expanded her team from two people to over 20 employees today. She has demonstrated both strategic development and the ability to drive change, which has resulted in strong progress,” says President Örjan Andersson.

Hanna Guseff has been appointed for the period January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2031. Most recently, she served as Research Manager in the research area of sustainable businesses and societies at Novia University of Applied Sciences.

“We face complex challenges in our society. As Dean, I want to strengthen the connection between education, research, and industry. Those of us working in the business administration department in Turku and Vaasa will not only educate tomorrow’s business leaders, but also actively contribute to a more resilient society. We will continue to build on Novia’s core values, where academic excellence goes hand in hand with societal benefit,” says Hanna Guseff

After six years as Dean for the Faculty of Business, Camilla Ekman is retiring. During spring 2026, she will work with education, courses, language services, and branding.

“I very much look forward to continuing to develop Novia together with Hanna as a high-quality, international, and attractive university. At the same time, I want to thank outgoing Dean Camilla Ekman for her valuable contributions and good collaboration. The business administration department has developed strongly in recent years,” concludes President Örjan Andersson.
