Nomination and Application Procedure

Novia University of Applied Sciences welcomes students from partner institutions to apply as exchange students to any of our degree programmes, located at the different campuses. Below you'll find information on:

Nomination for a study exchange

Before you can apply for an exchange you have to be nominated by your home university.

The nomination should include
-the name of the student
-date of birth
-gender
-email address
-planned period of stay (Spring/Autumn/whole academic year)
-Degree Programme at Novia in which the exchange student wants to study
-campus in case the same Degree Programme is offered at two campuses (Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Social Services, Nursing).

The nomination should be sent by email to the International Coordinator in Vaasa/Jakobstad or Turku/Raseborg depending on which campus the student is planning to go to.

We will start testing online nominations so feel free to nominate online but please send a follow-up email to ensure that the nomination hasn't gone lost.

Nomination deadlines:

15 April for the autumn term or the whole academic year

15 October for the spring term

Please note that nominations from students are not accepted.

General application deadlines:

Applications shall be submitted in SoleMove by

1 May for the autumn term
1 November for the spring term

Students applying to the degree programme in Fine Arts or Media Culture are requested to send their portfolios (preferably as a link to a website).

Nomination for a Practice Placement in Nursing

Due to a severe lack of placements we only offer Nursing placements in Turku. The most likely fields to get placements in are home care and elderly care whereas surgery and internal medicine are very difficult to get.

The nomination should include the same information as for study exchanges (see above) plus information about the dates of the placement and the kind of ward the student would like to have. Please note that in Finland students practice full-time, 38.5 hours per week.

We also accept online nominations but please follow up with an email to ensure that the nomination has reached us.

Application deadlines:

After the student has been nominated we will register him/her in the online mobility programme SoleMove and s/he will get an email with a link to the programme, a user name and password and instructions about how to fill in the application. Nursing students need to upload a Transcript of Records (in English) and information about previous Nursing placements.

The deadline for application is

1 March for the autumn term
1 October for the spring term

Health regulations

When the placement has been confirmed the Infection Safety Survey form below has to be filled and sent as encrypted email to the email address mentioned on the first page in the form.

Nomination and required documents for incoming Erasmus Global+ students

Incoming Erasmus+ Global students follow the same procedure as outlined above, unless otherwise agreed with the Novia UAS International Office.

Students who wish to have a work placement in Social Services must fill in the Infection Safety Survey above.

After being accepted, students are required to complete and sign the Grant Agreement and the Learning Agreement for Studies or Traineeship. The Learning Agreement must also be signed by the student’s home university.
