Forskningsomrade Kultur som forandringskraft

Kultur och hållbarhet

About the project

Kultur och hållbarhet aimed to create a sustainable Ostrobothnia through art and culture. The project explored the potential of arts and culture to raise awareness of and interest in sustainability issues through pilot activities, models and co-creation. The project also focussed on supporting an inclusive cultural life in rural areas and exploring how this can lead to increased knowledge, preparedness and engagement in sustainable development.

Project goal

To raise awareness and interest in sustainability issues among
citizens, cultural operators, municipalities and other sectors in Ostrobothnia.

To test how a broad, vibrant and inclusive cultural life in rural areas
can contribute to increased knowledge and readiness to live and act more sustainably.

To develop and test models for sustainable cultural events or activities, including
the development of an idea bank with concrete activities and a green
checklist that can be used by interested parties after the end of the project.

To provide municipalities with tools and models to bring cultural plans
to life with a sustainability perspective.

To create long-term partnerships that live on after the
project ends.

Impact

A variety of tools and concepts for raising awareness of and increasing engagement in sustainability challenges with the help of art and culture, as well as how to address these challenges were developed and tested in the project.
