Corporate Sustainability Regulation in a Changing World

About the project

The project "Corporate Sustainability Regulation in a Changing World" aims to support the sustainable growth and renewal of SMEs by strengthening their competence and capabilities in sustainability reporting and regulation. As EU legislation in this area has expanded significantly, it has become increasingly challenging for smaller companies in subcontracting chains to keep up with regulatory requirements. Through regional cooperation, partnerships, and co-development, the project helps companies understand the impact of regulation, and develops tools and models to facilitate sustainability reporting and the transition to a circular economy. The main target group is micro and small enterprises in the marine industry's subcontracting network in Southwest Finland, but other sectors are also included.

Project goal

The project seeks to support the sustainable growth and renewal of SMEs by increasing their knowledge of sustainability reporting and the effects of EU regulation. It also aims to develop and test digital tools for sustainability reporting, especially tailored for the marine industry but applicable to other sectors as well. By working together with companies, the project creates an operating model for effective data collection and reporting, and demonstrates in practice how these tools and models can be used. By engaging companies in development paths for energy efficiency and the circular economy, and by compiling a public guide, the project helps companies meet future requirements and strengthen their competitiveness.
