Carbon Neutral Experience 2.0

Promotes and highlights the ongoing journey towards carbon neutrality within the tourism sector in Uusimaa.

About the project

Carbon Neutral Experience 2.0 supports the Uusimaa region’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030. The project promotes awareness and knowledge of sustainability in collaboration with businesses and 13 municipalities in Uusimaa.

Carbon Neutral Experience 2.0 is carried out as a joint project between Posintra and the universities of applied sciences Haaga-Helia and Novia. A total of thirteen (13) municipalities in the Uusimaa region have committed to the sustainability goals: Helsinki, Raseborg, Tuusula, Porvoo, Hyvinkää, Espoo, Vantaa, Hanko, Sipoo, Lohja, Siuntio, Inkoo, and Nurmijärvi. The project is funded by the Regional Council of Uusimaa and is being implemented during the years 2023–2025.

Project goal

Promotion of a carbon-neutral tourism industry in Uusimaa in close collaboration with stakeholders.

Building a network that promotes sustainable tourism and includes experts from municipalities, universities, and businesses.

Utilizing data and new working methods to advance sustainable tourism.

Developing competence within the business sector and supporting sustainable growth in the tourism, restaurant, and event industries.
