Forskningsomrade Kultur som forandringskraft

Aurora Reel Accelerator

About the project

Aurora Reel Accelerator is a three-year cross-border initiative that strengthens the cultural and creative industries across the Aurora region through Virtual Production (VP). Led by Novia University of Applied Sciences together with Creative Crowd and a network of regional partners, the project combines filmmaking, game development and emerging technologies to build new skills, collaborations and business opportunities.

At the heart of the project is the Reel Jam model, where creative teams rapidly develop ideas into high-quality trailers and proof-of-concept productions. To support this work, the project will establish shared VP infrastructure across borders, giving creators access to advanced production tools and expertise.

Alongside production activities, Aurora Reel Accelerator offers open learning opportunities through webinars, demonstrations and workshops, helping filmmakers, students and creative professionals develop competence in Virtual Production. By the end of the project, a portfolio of productions will be showcased to international industry audiences, creating opportunities for growth, investment and new employment.

The project also promotes sustainability by reducing travel through digital production methods, supporting inclusive participation and creating long-term regional capacity for innovation within the creative sector.

Project goal

Aurora Reel Accelerator aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the cultural and creative industries in the Aurora region by establishing shared Virtual Production infrastructure, developing new skills, and creating cross-border collaboration models. The project will provide filmmakers and creative businesses with access to advanced technology, increase innovation capacity, and support the long-term sustainable development of the audiovisual sector.
