The Baltic Sea is one of the world’s busiest and most environmentally sensitive sea areas, making safe and efficient navigation essential. On 3 December 2025 at the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen, three ongoing projects join forces to present the latest advances in digital and resilient maritime e-navigation at a full-day seminar with presentations, demonstrations, and interactive workshops.
The interreg Baltic Sea Region funded projects ORMOBASS, MaDaMe, and Baltic Sea e-Nav work with development of complementary solutions that enhance maritime safety, harmonise digital navigation standards, and support the implementation of the IMO e-navigation strategy across the region. Novia UAS is participating as a partner in the MaDaMe project.
The seminar gathers maritime authorities, technology developers, researchers, and industry stakeholders to share insights into the next generation of S-100–based navigation services, solutions for navigating through GNSS interference, and new digital maritime information services.
Agenda Highlights
- Baltic Sea e-Nav: Standardised next-generation navigation information for cross-border use.
- ORMOBASS: Reliable positioning using R-Mode and GNSS interference detection.
- MaDaMe: Piloting digital fairway services and modern messaging tools based on the IHO S-100 framework.
Demonstrations:
- R-Mode equipment developments
- Live S-124 navigational warnings
- Traffic clearance services (S-212)
- Technical deep dives into S-100 and related standards
