Novia University of Applied Sciences and ABB Strengthen Cooperation

Novia University of Applied Sciences and ABB signed a partnership agreement on May 15, 2025, with the aim of strengthening cooperation. The parties have agreed to work towards jointly established visions and goals. 

The objective of the partnership agreement between Novia and ABB is to strengthen cooperation. "We strive for a collaboration that benefits both parties. We already have an established cooperation with ABB, and through this agreement, we systematize our work. We have formulated a number of concrete joint activities to implement the cooperation, including ABB contributing expertise in the development of our engineering education," says President Örjan Andersson.

"The goal of the cooperation is to strengthen education, for example through guest lectures, joint projects that give our students active contact with ABB and provide them with study achievements such as internships and theses or form parts of courses. The cooperation can also contribute to the further education of staff at ABB and Novia. We also see great opportunities for research and development cooperation within our focus areas. Here we can see projects in energy production and automation or ship propulsion," explains Dean Patric Granholm. 

"ABB formalizes its long-standing collaboration with Novia through a formal agreement to create structure and common goals. The aim is to develop the skills of students and employees, promote innovation in energy production, automation, and ship propulsion, and strengthen the ties between industry and academia. ABB contributes expertise to Novia's engineering education through guest lectures, projects, and internships, providing practical experience and industry contacts for students as they prepare for their careers. Research in energy production and automation is also an important part of the collaboration," states Fredrik Grankull.
