The autumn of 2021 will see the launch of two new degree programmes in the field of Culture in English: Bachelor of Fine Arts, Fine Arts (visual arts) as well as Master of Culture and Arts, Photography.

These programmes will be offered at Campus Allegro. The degree programme Bachelor of Fine Arts, Fine Arts will have a strong focus on the professional role of the artist. Its content will take form during the winter of 2020–2021, and a lecturer will be recruited to Jakobstad. The Bachelor programme has seven study places and is expected to arouse great international interest. The programme offers synergy with Novia’s corresponding visual arts programmes in Swedish. It will also constitute a three-year pilot.

The goal is to give students a deeper insight and competence in terms of contemporary art and their own artistic skills. The programme covers 240 credits. The studies give students the preparedness to act as visual artists and experts within the wide art world.
