Novia UAS attracted many applicants in the first joint application round
Novia attracted applicants from many different parts of the world in the first joint application round. As many as 1620 people want to study in the international English‑taught Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes at Novia University of Applied Sciences.
The first joint application round for higher education institutions closed on 21 January at 3:00 p.m. This spring’s first joint application included English‑taught programmes. In this round, Novia offered a total of 353 study places across nine master‑level and nine bachelor‑level application options.
The most popular bachelor’s programme this year was the new Bachelor of Culture and Arts, Game Arts in Jakobstad. The Bachelor of Maritime Management, Captain full‑time and blended studies in Turku also attracted significant interest. As in previous years, Nursing in Vaasa remains a very popular programme.
Among the master’s programmes, the greatest interest was directed at Structural Engineering in Raseborg. Master of Maritime Management/Master of Engineering, Maritime Management also continued to be popular and attracted many applicants this year.
“We have seen large variations over the past few years in the number of applicants to English‑taught programmes. This year, Novia received applications from 72 different countries, and the majority of applicants reside in Finland,” says Linda Norrbutts, Team Leader at Admissions Services.
“We are pleased to see the continued interest in Novia’s English‑taught programmes. Over the past years, we have gradually broadened our offering to meet the needs of an increasingly international working life. This year’s results confirm that we are on the right track and that this development is fully in line with our strategy,” says Head of Communications Jenny Svartsjö.
Novia did not use foreign agents in its admissions process.
Admission results to be published by the end of May
Novia is currently reviewing the applications. For programmes where admission is based on an entrance examination, the exams will be held during March–April.
Novia will publish the first admission results from the turn of February–March. All results from the first joint application round will be published no later than 27 May.
Applicants who are offered a study place will receive a notification of their admission by email. Applicants can also follow the status of their application in the My Studyinfo service.
