Mikael Ekblom appointed Head of ICT at Novia University of Applied Sciences

Novia University of Applied Sciences has appointed Mikael Ekblom as ICT Director, effective from 3 August 2026.

In this role, he will have overall responsibility for Novia’s ICT services and for the development of secure and well-functioning digital services across the university’s campuses in Vaasa, Turku, Jakobstad and Raseborg. The position includes both strategic development and management of ICT operations, with a focus on IT security, data communications, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Mikael Ekblom holds a Master of Arts degree. He will be based at Novia’s new campus in Turku on Biskopsgatan.

“Mikael Ekblom has a suitable educational background and extensive experience in leading and developing ICT operations, most recently as Head of IT and Digitalisation at the City of Raseborg. With his strong expertise and development-oriented approach, he will be a valuable addition to Novia.
