Håkan Omars continues to lead the Faculty of Arts and Culture at Novia UAS

Master of Education Håkan Omars has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Culture at Novia University of Applied Sciences.
The faculty offers degree programs for musicians, music educators, visual artists, designers, and performing arts educators. Omars will continue as Dean for a five-year term until July 31, 2030.

“We value Håkan’s solid experience and valuable network within the cultural field in Swedish-speaking Finland. I look forward to continuing our joint efforts toward attractive education, impactful research, development and innovation activities, and a stronger Nordic profile,” says President Örjan Andersson.

“I look forward with great commitment to continuing my work as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Culture. I am inspired by the entirety that Novia’s cultural education represents. There is knowledge, experience, creativity, inspiration, and strong potential. I see myself as a creative and responsive person with a constant drive toward the new and proactively positive development. I look forward to working together with Novia’s students and staff,” says Håkan Omars.

The Dean has overall responsibility for the faculty’s operations, which include education, artistic activities, and research, development, and innovation. The role also includes responsibility for the department’s finances and administration. The head of faculty is a member of Novia University of Applied Sciences’ management team.
