The versatile four-legged robot Unitree Go2 takes its place in education.
At the Novia University of Applied Sciences campus in Vaasa, you might come across Unitree Go2. This four-legged robot with a dog-like appearance can not only walk, run, and roll around but also stretch, shake hands, hop, sit down, and perform other commands it is programmed with.
Unitree Go2, named Kaius, has been used primarily for thesis projects since the autumn of 2024 and will later be incorporated into teaching. Technology students will then be able to program and control Go2 to perform specific tasks, giving them hands-on experience in robotics, machine learning, and programming. Novia also has four smaller robotic dogs, XGO Robot, which are already being used in teaching.
Kaius is versatile, intelligent, and capable of navigating complex environments, performing advanced movements, and interacting with users in a natural way.
