About the project

The new Integration Law (681/2003) came into force on January 1, 2025, and it stipulates a new service, multilingual civic orientation, which municipalities or the employment authority must offer to integration clients.

Integration clients should, if possible, receive civic orientation in their native language or in a language they are proficient in. Through the project, training is provided to individuals who have the linguistic and personal qualifications to conduct courses for other immigrants with the same linguistic background.

The 60-hour trainer training includes online meetings on Teams, in-person meetings as needed, independent work, and practical training in own groups.

The training is free of charge and conducted in Swedish. Participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the training.

Project goal

The goal is to pilot and develop a trainer training for civic orientation each semester in Swedish during 2025 and 2026. The training will be organized in a hybrid format so that participants can join from anywhere in Finland.

Two MindSpring leadership courses are also planned during the project period, one in Ostrobothnia and one in southern Finland.
