Degree Certificates
Novia UAS Sciences issues degree certificates in electronic form from January 2021 onwards. The degree certificate is a pdf document that has been signed electronically by the President. The electronic signature on the degree certificates complies with the EU Regulation on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions (eIDAS) 910/2014 and meets the requirements for a qualified electronic signature. The qualified electronic signature on the degree certificates follows PAdES standard and the requirements for long-term archival, which means that the degree certificate can be verified even after the signature certificate used for the signature has expired.
An electronic signature can be verified in various external services, for example the following
-
Digital and Population Data Services Agency in Finland: https://dvv.fineid.fi/validation
-
within the European Commission programme Connecting Europe Facility, CEF: https://ec.europa.eu/cefdigital/DSS/webapp-demo/validation
Information about the electronic signature is also displayed in the pdf document itself, by clicking on the image of the signature on the title page of the degree certificate.
