Ledarutbildning för samhällsorientering för invandrare

According to the new Integration Act, people who move to Finland are to be offered a course of approximately 70 hours in civic orientation in their native language or in a language they understand well. Novia offers a free training course for those who want to lead civic orientation courses and support integration in Finland.

The Civic Orientation Trainer Course, worth 5 ECTS, gives you the skills to plan and deliver courses that introduce newcomers to Finnish society. The course covers the ten themes of civic orientation: integration, Finnish culture, everyday and working life, education, family life, health and wellbeing, society and civic engagement, the legal system, and Finnish history. You will also learn how to lead group activities and gain practical experience with your own group, either in another language or with an interpreter.

The course is intended for people with a good understanding of Finnish society, strong language skills, and an interest in working with others.

The studies take place from 27 August to 12 November 2026 and consist of online meetings, a group meeting, independent work, and one session practical training with own group. If needed, we will help participants to find a group for their practical training.

The course is free of charge and is conducted in English.

The application is open until 23 August 2026.
