Service Design


All applicants must fill in an electronic application form by the end of the application period (no later than 22 January 2020), and submit pre-tasks no later than 29 January 2020 at 3 pm Finnish time. Pre-tasks submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Service Design task (50 points)

  • Analyse an existing service, describe it and visualize it as a customer journey. Analyse and discuss as well, how the service could be improved and mark your improvement suggestions on the customer journey.
  • Extent 3-5 pages.

Assessment: 0-50 points.

Assessment criteria:

  • Fluent written English
  • Depth of the analysis
  • Versatility of the development plans

Entrance Examination

The entrance examination will be held in the form of an e-interview in March/April 2020. English language proficiency will be assessed in connection with the e-interview. If you do not participate in the e-interview you cannot be admitted. The pre-task and e-interview can give you a maximum of 100 points in total. You must obtain at least 50/100 points to be admitted. Both the pre-task and e-interview must be passed in order to be considered for admission.

In cases of equal admission scores, applicants will be ranked on the following grounds:

1. pre-task and e-interview;

2. the order of selected application options on the application form;

If these criteria fail to produce a difference between tied applicants, a university of applied sciences may choose to admit all or none of the equally ranked applicants, or the applicants will be automatically ranked by lots drawn by a computer system.

Novia UAS Master of Business Administration, Service Design cooperates with Turku UAS Master of Business Administration, Service Design. The admission results of the pre-task and e-interview are accepted at both degree programmes.
