Invitation to the entrance examination
All eligible applicants will receive invitations to the entrance examination. The entrance examination is compulsory and is held on 5 April 2019 in Turku, Finland. The exact time and location will be included in the invitation letter. The entrance examination in Maritime Management, Captain will also be arranged abroad 2019 via FINNIPS.
Content of the entrance examination
Applicants must score at least 20 of 100 points in the entrance examination. An entrance examination result below 20 is failed and cannot be considered for admission.
The entrance examination is divided into the following parts:
- part 1: a technical test (mathematics, logical deduction, physics and chemistry, senior secondary school level). (total 60 points)
- part 2: a written interview, including an English language test. English language proficiency will be assessed on a scale of pass/fail. (total 40 points)
A non-programmable calculator is allowed during the entrance exam. The total duration of the entrance examination (parts 1 and 2) is 3 hours.
Admission to the degree programme
Students are selected for Maritime Management, Captain using an entrance examination only. The admission score consists of points awarded for the entrance examination.
