Pågående projekt

 

Jag är specialforskare vid Novia och jobbar med olika marinbiologiska projekt.

Tillsammans med forskare från Finlands Miljöcentral (Sirpa Lehtinen, Maiju Lehtiniemi) och Meteorologiska Institutet (Heidi Pettersson) analyserar vi långtidsdata av växt- och djurplankton, vattenkvalitet och klimatfaktorer för att kunna utröna vilka processer är på gång i Östersjön gällande havets status och framtid. Doktorand Louise Lindroos jobbar på sin doktorsavhandling vid Åbo Akademi om detta ämne i samarbete med Andreas Lindén

Jag samarbetar med Anna Jansson som jobbar som specialforskare vid Novia. Annas huvudsakliga forskningsintressen är  klimatförändring, plankton, benthos och experimentell ekofysiologi. 

Vi samarbetar med Andreas Brutemark (Calluna, Sverige) och Matias Scheinin (Hangö stad) gällande distributionen av djurplankton som en respons på multipla predatorer.

Tillsammans med Otto Långvik  vid YH Novia har vi sökt finansiering för att påbörja projekt som undersöker medicinrester i Pojoviken. 

 

Övrigt  

Jag skrev min doktorsavhandling om samverkan mellan blågrönalger, djurplankton och planktivorer i EZECOs forskningsgrupp med Markku Viitasalo som handledare. 

En del av min post-doc tillbringade jag i den vackra staden Vancouver, Brittiska Kolumbia, Kanada. 2008-2013 innehade jag en Akademiforskartjänst vid Finlands Akademi för att forska i klimateffekter på samverkan mellan cyanobakterier och hoppkräftor.
