Nomination deadlines :
  • 15 April for the Autumn term
  • 15 October for the Spring term
Nomination procedure:

To nominate students for EPS, please send the following information to our international coordinator: 

  • The student's name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Email address
  • Planned period of stay (either spring or autumn semester)
  • The programme at Novia in which the student wants to study
General application deadlines:

After the student has been nominated we will register the person in the online mobility programme SoleMove and s/he will get an email with a link to the programme and a user name and password. The student shall submit his/her application latest by: 

  • 1 May for the Autumn term
  • 1 November for the Spring term
Learning Agreement

Besides the SoleMove application, please also send us your Learning Agreement for Studies.

As a general rule, Learning Agreements for Studies shall be done online via the Erasmus Without Paper Network.The coordinator at your home university can give you more information about this matter.

Free Mover students

You can apply to EPS as a Free Mover exchange student if you are studying at a higher education institution that does not have an agreement with Novia University of Applied Sciences. Free Mover students are selected on a case-by-case basis. Students must be nominated by their home institution according to the instructions given on this page. 

Nomination procedure: 

Please note that we do not accept nominations from the students themselves. Please ask your home university to send the following information to our International Coordinator:  

  • The student's given and family name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • E-mail address
  • Planned period of stay (either spring or autumn semester)
  • The programme at Novia in which the student wants to study

The student must be nominated latest by 

  • 15 April for the autumn term
  • 15 October for the spring term 
Application procedure  

Once the student has been nominated, we will register him/her in our mobility system called SoleMove . The student will then receive an email with a link to the application and must submit his/her application latest by:  

  • 1 May for the Autumn term
  • 1 November for the Spring term 

Students who are NOT citizens of an EU member state, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland: we recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible so that you'll have enough time to apply for a residence permit if you're accepted (more information below). 

Application documents 

Please attach the following documents to your SoleMove application:  

  • CV
  • Official transcript of records from home university
  • Certificate of English proficiency (more information below) 

All documents must be in English, Swedish or Finnish.  

Interview 

Students are selected for an interview via Teams on the basis of their application. The interview lasts approximately 20 minutes and is conducted in English. The purpose of the interview is to find out more about the candidate's suitability for EPS.

Language requirements 

Free Mover students need  to prove their English language skills either by an internationally recognized language test or previous studies. English language skills can be proved by the following documents: 

  • IELTS Academic*: a minimum total score of 6.0 (Test sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) 
  • TOEFL Academic (iBT): a minimum total score of 60 (Test sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing)
  • PTE Academic*: a minimum total score of 55 (Test sections: Speaking and Writing, Reading, and Listening)
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced: a minimum total score of 169 (Test sections: Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, and Speaking)
  • Cambridge C2 Proficiency: a minimum total score of 169 (Test sections: Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening, and Speaking)
  • National Certificate of Language Proficiency (YKI) English: Grade 4 or higher on all the subtests (speaking, listening comprehension, writing, and reading comprehension)
  • Higher education degree completed in English in an EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom, or the United States
  • Upper secondary degree completed in English in an EU/EEA country, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom, or the United States
  • One of the following grades in the Finnish Matriculation Examination, European Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate or Reifeprüfung/DIA: 
    Finnish Matriculation Examination: English advanced syllabus with a minimum grade M 
    International Baccalaureate completed in English 
    International Baccalaureate diploma: grade 4 in higher level English 
    European Baccalaureate: at least grade 6.00 in L2-level English 
    Reifeprüfung/DIA completed diploma: at least grade 7 in advanced English 

* IELTS Online and PTE Academic Online are also accepted. 

Residence permit  

Students who are NOT citizens of an EU member state, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland have to apply for a residence permit.  

Due to the long processing time, we strongly recommend that you apply for a residence permit immediately after receiving a Letter of Acceptance. For more information on residence permits and visas, please visit our Immigration page
