COVID-19 Pandemic

Due to the pandemic, CoastGIS 2020 was moved to 2021.

When we decided last year to hold the symposium as a hybrid event, we thought there would be greater certainty at this point about the pandemic situation in the autumn – and that we would be able to meet in person, at least to some extent.

However, the situation has continued to remain uncertain regarding the pandemic development, travel restrictions, and vaccine availability. It is unclear if it will be possible to meet in person as a large group come autumn.

Therefore, we decided in April 2021 that it would be best to focus our resources and efforts on producing a high-quality all-online symposium. This way, we can move forward with planning CoastGIS 2021, assured that despite the circumstances we will be able to host an excellent, participatory, and interactive symposium.

A symposium that brings value, new connections, greater understanding, and inspiration to you – the speakers, presenters, and participants who make CoastGIS an event worth attending.
