Jakobstad is located on the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia and the city has 19 500 inhabitants. The advantages of the little city is the closeness between the campus, the epic nature of the archipelago and the leisure activities. The cultural life in Jakobstad is vibrant, especially since Campus Allegro was completed in 2013. There are about 700 university students, among them Novias almost 300 students in the field of culture. The Schauman Concert Hall with 400 seats has one of the country’s best acoustic environments with high-class audio engineering, recording studio and instruments.

Jakobstad is a bilingual city in Ostrobothnia, with about 20 000 citizens. There are many educations on the senior secondary level and on a UAS/University level in campus Allegro Jakobstad. Jakobstad (or Pietarsaari in Finnish), is located in Western Finland, on the Gulf of Bothnia. Campus Allegro with its 700 students, is located in the heart of the town of Jakobstad. The educational units that comprise the dynamic campus are the Universities of Applied Sciences of Novia and Centria, Åbo Akademi University, the YA! Vocational Education and Training, the Music Institute of the Jakobstad Region and the Children’s Art School, Balatako. Allegro is a well-known cultural meeting place. The Degree Programme in Performing Arts is situated in Campus Allegro and have their own black box för education.
