New name for degree programme in English
Sustainable Coastal Management, SCM is the new name for the Bachelor Degree Programme, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, ICZM. The previous name was interpreted as complicated and the term was only known by persons within the field. The new name is intended to be easier to understand and also easier for potiential students to grasp the content of the Programme. Although the name has changed the education will keep its objective of fostering professionals that through a cross-sectorial approach deals with environmental challenges in coastal areas. The change of name was acknowledged by the Ministry of Education in spring and students will start the newly named Programme in autumn 2012.
